BLUESFEST | Take One

Ottawa is at it’s best in the summer. The weather’s hot, the patios are open and more importantly Bluesfest takes over for two weeks. There is nothing better then enjoying live outdoor music, delicious beer and snacks (ahem, mini doughnuts.)

So far this year my favourite performance has been the freaking incredible show that The Roots out on this past Wednesday. Their game and charm shone for the entire set; from their lengthy rendition of “You Got Me”, to pops of Guns n’ Roses “Sweet Child of Mine” and we can’t forget “Bad to the Bone,” they had the crowd roaring and jumping as the sun was setting for the day.

 Tonight’s line up includes Cage the Elephant, The Black Keys, Rise Against, Wanda Jackson, Hey Rosetta!, and the Cavaliers just to name a few.
