I got a great e-mail form Geoff of Samurai In Street Clothes this past weekend. Have you ever heard of tilt shit photography? This is more tilt shift miniature faking... blurring parts of the photo simulates the shallow depth of field normally encountered in close-up photography, making the scene seem much smaller than it actually is. This is a photo I took in NY.
I am sure you have seen examples of this in film over this past year, it seems pretty trendy.
